If your goal is to lose weight permanently and enjoy amazing health and super energy you must shift from your eating habits from nutrient-poor to nutrient-dense.
All those processed, highly refined convenience foods must be replaced by fresh fruits and vegetables, healthy fats, healthy proteins and healthy fiber.
For the most part, we’ve been a bit mislead by the “diet” industry that pushes macro-nutrients: carbohydrates, proteins and fats in our diets in some crazy specific ratio; more of this and less of that, include this but exclude that.
Although there is a bit of truth in these formulas, these calorie containing nutrients are not the basis of healthy eating.
Micro-nutrients: vitamins, antioxidants, phytochemicals/phytonutrients, minerals and fiber are more important than just calories.
Unfortunately, the strategies of nearly every mainstream weight-loss program is focused on eating in an unhealthy manner by manipulating the amount of macro-nutrients…the fats, carbs, proteins and calories you consume in order to get you to eat less. Truth is, if it were really that simply, the world would have not the present “over-weight” obesity epidemic and everyone would be slim and trim. But, we know that is not the truth.
Although fueling your body by focusing on nutrients first and calories second is not the complete answer…it is the foundation of a much healthier way of eating than the “whatever, whenever” approach.
Eating “whatever, whenever” just doesn’t cut it. Micronutrient poor processed foods will only hold you back from enjoying life to the fullest and will definitely keep you locked in an overweight body.
Real foods (as opposed to “food-imposters” taste delicious are nutrient-dense and will always be naturally lower in calories.
Micronutrient-rich, naturally low-calorie healthy eating propels you to incredible health, fitness and weight-loss.
Nutrient-dense eating provides a long list of benefits:

In the end the only thing that matters is learning how to fuel your body effectively and properly in a way that you enjoy and can sustain for the long haul.
Your goal should be to eat at least 80 percent nutrient-rich whole foods.

Remember, you must be patient with yourself. Lifestyle switches such as “diet” take time and patience…but if you stay focused on stellar health and healthy weight you will get there.
Clean your kitchen cupboards out over a period of time or all at once…either way will improve your lifestyle and your health. The only real important thing is that you start the journey.
Learn the basics first and then continue on becoming more proficient…you’ll eventually rise to the top and just like martial arts, you’ll gain your black belt.
