Diabetes is nothing to fool around with.\u00a0<a title=\"Sugar turns on the \u201cFat Switch\u201d\" href=\"http:\/\/stopweightlossresistance.com\/articles\/weight-loss-basics\/sugar-turns-on-the-fat-switch\/\">Excess sugar<\/a>\u00a0in the blood can cause vision loss, hearing loss, high blood pressure and gum disease.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The 2 main kinds of diabetes are:<\/strong>\u00a0<em>Type 1<\/em>\u00a0when the pancreas is at fault and produces little to no insulin and\u00a0<em>Type 2<\/em>\u00a0which occurs when the hormone insulin is produced but the body does not respond to it right away.<\/p>\n<p><em>The causes of Type 1 diabetes are harder to pinpoint but Type 2 diabetes is\u2026unfortunately, increasingly common.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Eating carbohydrates too often (especially sugars) will make you less sensitive to insulin and you can actually develop low \u201cinsulin sensitivity\u201d (this is one case of \u201csensitive\u201d that you want on your side\u2026you do want to be sensitive to the production of insulin), a condition that allows more insulin than is needed to be produced in order to keep blood sugar levels stable.<\/p>\n<p>With poor insulin sensitivity, carbs and\u00a0<a title=\"Wheatgrass is a Powerful Friend\" href=\"http:\/\/stopweightlossresistance.com\/articles\/healthy-food-choices\/wheatgrass-is-a-powerful-friend\/\">nutrients\u00a0<\/a>are hard to digest which results in weight gain.<\/p>\n<p>Not only does insulin sensitivity increase the risk of developing diabetes, it also ups the risk of thyroid problems and different types of cancer. It\u2019s best not to add milk or cream as it undermines the tea\u2019s circulatory benefits.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Low Body Fat:<\/strong>\u00a0Being lean is a good thing and can improve insulin sensitivity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fasting:<\/strong>\u00a0Although not everyone has tried fasting, it can help to lower the risk of developing diabetes and other diseases like cardiovascular disease.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lots of quality sleep:<\/strong>\u00a0Getting enough sleep is crucial in keeping the body functioning at peak performance\u2026and that includes the production of vital hormones.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eat slow digesting foods:<\/strong>\u00a0These sugars in these foods take longer to hit the bloodstream allowing insulin to be released gradually.
